Why Speak Fluent

Not all communication coaching is created equal.

Generic courses can tell you what to do. They cannot assess you, identify what's holding you back, or build a training plan around your specific role and goals. See how Speak Fluent stacks up.

Frequently asked

Common questions about choosing Speak Fluent

Every clinician on the Speak Fluent team is a registered speech-language pathologist, but unlike traditional speech therapy clinics that work across pediatric clinical care, voice disorders, and adult clinical recovery, 100% of our therapists' hours are dedicated to working professionals. That concentrated focus means our team has deeper experience with the specific communication challenges that come up at work — interviews, meetings, presentations, leadership conversations, and accent modification — than most SLPs working in general practice.

Speaking courses teach generic presentation techniques to a wide audience. Speak Fluent provides one-to-one coaching with a licensed speech-language pathologist who assesses your specific habits, builds a personalized plan around your role and goals, and gives direct feedback at every session. The depth, personalization, and clinical foundation are different by design. Speak Fluent is also typically covered by extended health insurance and workplace learning budgets — most courses are only covered by the latter.

Communication coaching in Canada is an unregulated profession, which means anyone can use the title without training, licensing, or oversight. At Speak Fluent, every coach is a registered, regulated speech-language pathologist with a Master's degree, accountable to a provincial regulatory body. That clinical foundation lets us address the physical and technical side of communication — voice control, pronunciation, pacing — in ways that non-clinical coaches typically cannot.

Yes. Because Speak Fluent sessions are delivered by licensed speech-language pathologists, they are covered by most Canadian extended health insurance plans under speech therapy or paramedical services. Many clients also fund their sessions through workplace learning and development budgets. We provide detailed receipts, formal program proposals, and certificates of completion to support reimbursement.

Speak Fluent's approach combines four elements: habit (so changes become automatic), muscle memory (the physical drill of speech and voice), knowledge (understanding why something works), and mindset (managing the situations where communication matters most). Most communication training programs focus on one or two of these — usually knowledge and mindset. The combination is what produces lasting change under real-world pressure.
