Hi there! My name is Aasia (pronounced a-see-ya). In my work, I aim to create a culture of life-affirming communication, one that promotes refined self-expression grounded in empathy, collaboration, authenticity, and freedom in interpersonal relationships. Helping people express themselves clearly and confidently, while feeling aligned with who they are, is at the heart of my work.
I am a certified speech therapist, somatic coach, and yoga educator. I completed a Bachelor of Arts in Linguistics at Carleton University and a Master of Science in Communicative Sciences and Disorders at New York University. My therapeutic skills are broad, with additional training in Non-Violent Communication, collective consciousness, grief and loss, and Traditional Chinese Medicine. I’ve spent the last decade providing services to a variety of New Yorkers in the acquisition, remediation, and refinement of communication skills.
In my sessions, I emphasize awareness, intention, and single-minded focus to help my clients achieve greater stability and presence in their personal and professional life. Whether you’re seeking support with improving your speaking clarity, projecting your voice with confidence, reducing anxiety in social relationships, or developing engaging presentation skills, rest assured that when you bring curiosity, dedication, and patience to our sessions, you will experience meaningful and lasting changes to becoming the clearest, most authentic version of yourself.
In my spare time, I teach yoga classes in studio and on retreats around the world. I spent the last three years living as a nomad (too many countries to count!) and even though that lifestyle is no longer resonant, a small part of me will always feel like a citizen of the world.
*Aasia is currently licensed to practice in Quebec.
